How long does it take for my paper carrier bags to be printed?

Our lead times do vary depending on how busy we are and what time of year it is but we tend to offer printed paper carrier bags in 2-4 weeks. Similar sort of time frame we tend to offer on all our products.

What are printing plates and why do I need them?

Thinking of adding printing to your paper carrier bags order? Elliott Packaging use printing plates to print on your bags.

We outsource our printing plates from trusted printing plate makers. You will need to purchase your printing plates with your first order. If your artwork is the same on future orders, you will not need to purchase these again.

Can I get a printed sample of my bag before I place my order?

Unfortunately, not. The manufacturing process of a printed bag does not allow us to set up the machines to print just one bag. We do have other options though for peace of mind. We can send samples of our recent work. We can offer visual mock ups online. As standard procedure, our plate makers send PDF printing proofs which show, colours sizes and positioning. These proofs need to be signed off before we proceed to make yours bags.

Elliott Packaging can also offer a ‘cromalin’ a cromalin is a print off of your PDF proof on film which will give you a very good vision of the finished product.

What if I want to change my artwork in a few months?

Thinking of changing your printing artwork? This is a common question when purchasing paper carrier bags because retailers and businesses will usually run a promotional offer or change branding.

If you want to change your artwork you will need new printing plates. If it’s a small change to the design such as an address, we may be able to change this using a ‘slug insert’.

Please get in touch if you need any further information or see our full range of products.

What is a process print?

A process print is a print technique which uses 4 standard colours (CMYK) to create a full spectrum of colours. CMYK stands for cyan magenta yellow and black.
